Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. She was born and raised in California USA she started her modeling professional career in Italy. Her acting career started in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure a part for Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was very intense. Amy had a difficult time making the switch from modeling to acting, as models aren't usually thought of as an actor of high quality. They are usually given smaller and unimportant parts. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. She then ventured into the lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years of struggling. She then went on to work in many of the greatest film productions, such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless with Jason Statham, in which she played an enduring character.
